UberConf 2016

I attended UberConf in Denver, CO from 7/19 - 7/22. This was my first UberConf, but it will most likely not be my last. The conference itself was well organized, at a beautiful location, and had a ton of excellent content presented by professionals. I attended the following sessions and added notes where I took them. The slides and audio are only made available to attendees so I will not be linking to them.…

YAPC:NA 2015

I attended YAPC:NA 2015 in Salt Lake City, UT from June 8-10. This was my second YAPC and was every bit as enjoyable as the first. It was also in a great spot for me to add a bit of vacation to the conference and visit some family. If you do nothing else watch this, it was by far the most memorable event this year. It's too bad the audio was not right on the…

Java One 2014 - San Francisco

I attended Java One 2014 in San Francisco from September 28 - October 2. This conference is huge and is just a portion of the massive Oracle OpenWorld. I did not attend any sessions on the first day due to some travel issues, but I still made the most of the four remaining days. These are the sessions I attended, a summary of the content, my impressions, slide decks, video and any other information I could…

YAPC:NA 2014 in Orlando, FL

I attended my first, and definitely not last, Yet Another Perl Conference last week. I have been interested in attending this particular conference for a very long time. The problem was I never had an employer who would take care of the bill and I use vacation as a time to not think about computers at all. It's amazing what you can get the boss to approve when you are self employed. The highlight of the…

AnDevCon Takeaways

I attended AnDevCon last week and came away with a treasure trove of awesome information and projects. My favorite find was GenyMotion which is a fast Android emulator. No really, it is a fast Android emulator. It starts up quickly, it responds to touchs quickly and it has a set of useful actions available in a tab bar. If you take nothing else away from this post, this is the one thing to integrate into your…

AnDevCon

I just registered to attend AnDevCon from November 12th - 15th. I attended their first conference in March 2011 and really enjoyed the experience. It was very useful at that point in time because good Android information was still hard to come by. I am hoping that this time around the conference will be as informative and educational. Even though I am not currently working on Android development professionally, I still really enjoy writing apps and…
